You know how it goes. You're strolling along, your mind nowhere in particular, when you spot a little piece of paper on the pavement. Perhaps it's a torn up photograph; or a thrown away note; or a forgotten shopping list. How often do you pick it up to take a look, momentarily wondering about the person whose life it has come from?

Found bits of evidence like that are the subject of the Found, Shared the new exhibition at the Photographers Gallery, which runs till 17 June. It's a great little show, with the work of three magazines that use found and discarded photographs and ephemera as their starting point.
