ICCE Christmas cards

Project Type:
Print

Client:
Goldsmiths

Since 2008, the Institute for Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship (ICCE), a department at Goldsmiths University, has been delivering and supporting new sustainable and responsible business models for the Cultural sector, through various well-respected BA, MA and Postgraduate courses.

I’ve designed a selection of materials for the courses, including course handbooks, toolkits, reports and guides. I’ve also designed several seasonal cards for them, of which this is the most recent, celebrating the 2024 Winter Solstice.

The card, printed on 100% recycled stock, has the letters ICCE die-cut out of the front. Thanks to the internal symmetry* of those letters, they can still be read when the card is opened, despite effectively being the wrong way up.

*Okay, full confession, I adjusted the height of the central crossbar of the E just a little to make it work perfectly.

Here’s an earlier card, from 2015, on which I used four Ho Ho Ho Hos to echo the four letters of the department’s initialism (ICCE). The card was printed with a single Pantone ink, using tints to create something that feels more expensive than it is, and printed onto an economical folded sheet of A4 size card, also ensuring minimal waste.
