I Count – Stop Climate Chaos
It's difficult to escape the feeling that the next few years are the make or break ones when it comes to climate change.
Fortunately, it's not too late quite yet. If we all make some small changes to the way we live, then we can start to really change things. Heck, these are just some of the stupidly easy things we can do that will make a difference:
Don't fly - planes are grim, and trains are so much more chic.
Ride a bike when you can instead of driving a car - it's more fun, and you'll even get fit.
Switch to low energy light bulbs - they save you money; like, duh?
Switch off your appliances instead of leaving them on standby - they're eating your electricity.
Only fill the kettle with as much water as you need - it's quicker that way.
Unplug your phone charger when you're not using it - it's eating your electricity too.
Turn your thermostat down a couple of notches - you won't notice the difference, the planet will.
Really. Don't just think about it. Do it. Do it today, and keep doing it. (And feel really good about it.)
Brilliantly, you can also make your voice heard loud and clear by getting along to the I Count event at Trafalgar Square on Saturday 4 November. It's a huge demonstration of the will of the nation, organised by the Stop Climate Chaos group. It's time for us all to stand up, and to say to the politicians across the globe - We want you to do something, and we want you to do it now.
