IPA Advertising Works

Project Type:
Branding

Client:
IPA

The Insititute of Practitioners in Advertising represents over 260 advertising, brand communications and marketing agencies in the UK. They organised a conference as part of the Shanghai Expo 2010, promoting UK agencies to China, and came to me for branding for the event, as well as programmes and invitations. Taking inspiration from the UK’s pavilion at the Expo, designed by Thomas Heatherwick and nicknamed ‘The Dandelion’, I designed a rainbow-hued flower for the event logo, created from an abstracted combination of dandelion seeds and networking diagrams. I then used this across all the event materials, as well as on the materials for a follow-up conference at the V&A in London. All the materials were dual-language, set in English and simplified Chinese.
